Sopranos Actor Lilo Brancato Found Not Guilty on Murder - But May Go to Prison for Burglary

advertisement

Lilo Brancato, who played a bumbling mobster in the famous show, got his start in the film 'A Bronx Tale'. He was convicted of the lesser charge of attempted burglary in a case where Brancato and another man were confronted by an off-duty policeman while burglaring a residence looking for prescription drugs.

Brancato's accomplice shot and killed the policeman. The policeman managed to get off a few shots before he died, wounding both men. The accomplice was later convicted of first-degree murder and other charges. Brancato faces 3-15 years on the burglary. The prosecutor plans to go for the maximum sentence.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I didn't watch the Sopranos much. But I did see Brancato in 'A Bronx Tale' several times. Too bad. The judge and the prosecutor might give him the maximum fifteen-year sentence. Why?

Even though Brancato didn't pull the trigger...he was involved in a crime where a New York City policeman died.

A very bad rap no matter where you live, but perhaps a bit worse in the Big Apple.

If he looked like John Lovitz, no one would care about this a-hole.

Rich - 785556 says:

Come on now, Rich. Don't sugar-coat it. Say what you REALLY mean.

Just kidding. I think a lot of folks are with you on that one.

if ur involved in a crime and someone dies, even if it were ur accomplice, then u should face murder charges (things like " i didn't want anyone to be killed" and other lame excuses are irrelevant. im definitely no angel by all means but when ur going to do a crime u have to know that no matter if someone dies or not- u chose to participate.  never though culogeno  "oh excuse me- i mean "C"  would ever do drugs  no   one is immune to the evils of life

If he is hooked on prescription drugs or any other controlled substance, send him to rehab and call it a day! Save the prison room for rapists, murderers and other violent offenders. It is amazing to me that people hooked on drugs get longer prison sentences than those kind of criminals I listed above! Please explain this to me....Don't worry, I'll wait! *shakes her head in disbelief*
