Okay, I have to admit it. I'm afraid of the Church of Sci-Fi-ology and T.C.
No, I don't want to be hooked up to their infamous lie detectors or brainwashed into signing over my bank account. So, I'm referring to both of them by their initials. Poking fun at the President is easier - and a lot safer.
At least the Prez knows how to take a joke, but these guys are known for being more paranoid than a fat chicken at a fox convention.
You can't really blame them. Tax-exempt status in the United States is one of the easier ways to get rich, especially if you decide to form your own religion. After that, it's only a matter of recruiting people and holding out your hand for the donations.
Once you become a major entity out on the edge of the tax code, then you must fight hard for your right to maintain that status. Sometimes you have to get militant on people.
I think the thing that upsets people about T.C.'s anti-alien project isn't the project itself. I believe T.C.'s fans are angry and confused because they considered him a smart guy, and certainly nobody's fool. It's been a big letdown for fans, and no one will be able to view another T.C. film without watching him for signs of bipolar disorder.
After his appearance on a famous female African-American-hosted daytime television program, (there I go with my OWN paranoia again) I thought T.C. was showing signs of problems.
Saying exactly what problems is a matter of opinion. This article is like a novel. You use your imagination and fill in the blanks for yourself.
I look at T.C. and wonder why he isn't in child court. Teaching your kids that aliens are coming to invade the Earth seems like child abuse to me.
Those kids are going to have more nightmares than the last victim in a Freddy Krueger film.
T.C. believes he is helping promote the Church of Sci-Fi-ology, when in reality he has become a liability.
He is now a world-famous example showing that no one is immune to the manipulation of a well-organized cult.
Time for T.C. to check into the Reality Hotel.
Penthouse suite, of course.
LOL.. I am clipping that one to my column ! Thank you.
That is so funny, Robert. I love the cartoons; did you create them? Too much;0
I loved it, I think that church is one of the biggest jokes going and people are still falling for it, that's the funniest part of all.
Once you become a major entity out on the edge of the tax code,
Inspired! Thank you :)
Sad to say I missed these last fall. Really, I must put you on watch list.
